Adventist Community Services Disaster Response (ACSDR)
The mission of ACSDR is to respond to the needs of people during a disaster. Volunteers have been trained to work in cooperation with Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster or Community Organization Active in Disaster and government agencies to help provide relief to disaster survivors. A disaster is a natural event beyond the control of individuals that causes destruction, damage, loss, suffering and hardship in a community or communities. The most significant natural events in Colorado that can cause damage are River Flooding, Flash Flood, Dam Failure Flood, Earthquakes, Tornados, Wildfires, Drought, Winter Storms, Hailstorms, Windstorms, Avalanche, and Landslides. There can also be Technological, Social and Health disasters.
